It works word by word, and the ranking is a best guess, so check the result before moving on.
The Urdu layout and the Shift keys
The main layer carries the everyday letters: ط ص ھ د ٹ پ ت ب ج ح along the top, then م و ر ن ل ہ ا ک ی, then ق ف ے س ش غ ع. Hold Shift for the rest: ظ ض ذ ڈ ث چ خ ژ ز ڑ, the hamza forms ء and ؤ, the alef madda آ, the letter گ, and the Urdu question mark ؟, which faces the opposite way to the Latin one.
Phonetic and other layouts

Copy, translate, or send your text
When your text is ready, hit Copy (or Ctrl+C / Cmd+C) and paste it anywhere: WhatsApp, a document, a search box. Undo, Redo, and Clear are in the same toolbar. No. Typing by sound rewrites how a word sounds into Urdu letters, so salam stays the word salam (سلام). Translation changes the meaning into another language. Use the Translate section for an actual translation.
